Guest Mode

Last updated: May 15, 2026

Guest Mode locks vehicle security settings when a driver uses your vehicle. When enabled, guests can drive but can’t change critical controls like PIN to Drive, Speed Limit, or delete keys.

What Guest Mode does

When Guest Mode is ON, drivers cannot:

  • Change PIN to Drive

  • Change Speed Limit Mode

  • Change Glovebox PIN

  • Add or remove keys

  • Change the vehicle name

  • Disable mobile access

Drivers can:

  • Drive the vehicle

  • Use normal driving controls

  • View and delete dashcam clips

Caution: Drivers can give themselves Tesla App access if they have the physical key card and the vehicle is in Guest Mode. It is not recommended to give the guest the physical key card if the car is in Guest Mode.

Guest Mode setting on (web or mobile)

  1. Open the vehicle in Standard Fleet (web or iOS/Android).

  2. Find the Guest Mode button

  3. Tap to Enable or Disable.

Guest Mode takes effect immediately for that vehicle as long as the vehicle is awake and not driving. If the vehicle is driving, you may have to attempt again later once the vehicle is parked.

Operations

In your day-to-day operations, you may need your team to be able to disable and enable Guest Mode to do things like remove Bluetooth keys from the vehicle. You can do so from the Standard Fleet web or mobile app.
